Turimetta Moods - First Week of Spring 2025
by Joe Mills
Week ending Friday 5 Sep 2025
Pleasant mornings all week, and lots of signs of Spring, including plenty of birds along the beach & in the coastal trees & banksias. The Wattlebirds have a nest near the southern steps & spend a lot of time chasing the Magpies away.
Om Monday morning I began my usual garbage pickup from the southern steps, only to find there was none. I thought that the partygoers have finally seen the light, but by the time I reached the cave at the northern end there were bottles everywhere and a burnt out fireplace. Business as usual.
Anyway, there is a real mixture of pics, including the Plover at the Sports Academy pool grounds, who is in the 4th week of looking after her eggs. Fingers crossed, as it must be close to hatching time.
Lots of rocks, both big and small are still falling from the cliffs, after the recent spell of rain.
My favourite road sign is 'Falling Rocks'. What exactly am I supposed to do with that information? They may as well have a sign saying "Random accidents ahead", "Life's a lottery, Be lucky." - Jimmy Carr
As always, enjoy nature.
Joe Mills.
