Salvation Loop Trail, Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park: September 2020
Photos By Selena Griffith

The online visual stroll through the many treasures adjacent to or overlooking Pittwater continues this Issue, with Academic, Author, Artist, Sustainable Gardener and MUM, Selena Griffith again sharing some wonderful captures from this track for all who may not be able to get outdoors at present, or negotiate these bushwalks.

The Salvation loop trail is an easy family-friendly nature walk through hanging swamps and heathland in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, near West Head.

Along the edge of the hanging swamp and wet heathland you can notice how the vegetation changes - the same flowers Selena has photographed elsewhere have another kind of shade of pink or where there is a watercourse, a vibrancy meets the eye.Plants that thrive in wet live here; sphagnum moss, sword grass and the green-flowering swamp banksia, Coral and pink swamp heath are dotted through the heathland - or as Selena calls them, 'meadow flowers' - bush meadow flowers.

This is a place of large ants, heath birds and their nests, water dragons and raptors wheeling overhead of broad open heathland vistas.

For those who have waited all week for the next dose of sunshine, flowers and views these wonderful members of our community are sharing - immerse yourself in this - and thank you Selena - GLORIOUS!
