Pittwater - Manly - Wakehurst - Davidson Local Sports Grants Announced

Jacqui Scruby MP is pleased to advise that 12 sporting organisations in Pittwater have shared in a statewide pool of $4.49 million following the awarding of grants in the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

“Sporting clubs form a much loved and really important part of the Pittwater community, providing both fitness and social benefits and bringing our community together. 

“These clubs are often powered by the passion and dedication of parents and volunteers, but they are also feeling the pressure of rising costs and tight budgets. This funding will make a real difference on the ground, helping local clubs upgrade equipment, support participation, and keep sport accessible for families across Pittwater.”

The Local Sports Grant Program provides grants for minor facility upgrades, new equipment and programs that support and encourage participation in sport and active recreation in NSW. Grants up to $20,000 were available, with up to $50,000 in Pittwater.

  • Manly Junior Sailing Association of New South Wales Inc. - Equitable Sailing Training for NSW Children: $3,721
  • Careel Bay Tennis Club - Tennis Court Safety Engineered Fencing: $7,500
  • Warringah Rugby Club Ltd. - Purchase of Equipment: $2,216
  • BYRA Sailing and Aquatic Club - Juniors boat building program: $4,000
  • Manly Warringah BMX Club - Pair of Start Gate Lights for BMX Start Hill: $2,937
  • Pittwater Junior AFL Inc. - Continue and expand inclusive AFL in 2026: supporting young people with disability through specialist staff, tailored coaching, and reducing waitlist in the Kickability Program: $6,640
  • Manly Warringah Kayak Club Inc. - Qualified Gym Instructor to Increase Participation and Reduce Injuries in Senior Paddlers During Winter: $2,400
  • Bungan Boardriders Incorporated - Junior development Program: $3,000
  • Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club Inc. - Storage racking for sailing dinghies in new Clubhouse: $2,000
  • Terrey Hills Cricket Club - Terrey Hills Cricket Helmut Initiative 2025: $2,585
  • North Narrabeen Boardriders Club (NNBC) - All terrain equipment trolley: $3,000
  • Northern Beaches Para Surfer Boardriders - Enhancing Para Surfing Accessibility & Community on the Northern Beaches: $10,000

Manly’s Grants Recipients  

Member for Manly, James Griffin MP, announced has been secured for five local sporting organisations under the NSW Government’s Local Sports Grant Program 2026.

“Grassroots sport is at the heart of our community and our way of life on the Northern Beaches,” Mr Griffin said.

“This funding will make a real difference, improving facilities, boosting participation across all ages, genders and abilities, and supporting more locals to lead healthy, social and active lives.”

“I am proud to support clubs across the Manly electorate so that they remain strong, inclusive and sustainable well into the future.” 

Under this year’s program, the following organisations from the Manly electorate will receive funding to support key projects:

  • Manly Warringah Wolves AFL – for a portable electronic scoreboard for AFL and cricket: $14,455 
  • Manly Warringah Softball Association – for Project Shades: $3,836
  • Freshwater Boardriders Club – for a Junior Girls Participation and Development Program: $6,800
  • Girls Boardrider Fraternity Inc –  for annual coaching and judging courses: $3,680
  • Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club – for training equipment: $15,090 

Wakehurst’s Grants Recipients

  • Forest Baseball Softball Club Inc -  Zooka machines: $5,250.00 
  • Forest Baseball Softball Club Inc  - Field covers: $7,600.00 
  • Gravity Adaptive Inc. - Enhancing Access, Training, and Resources for Adaptive Mountain Biking: $11,925.00
  • Manly Eagles - Baseball Aquatic Ballpark Infield Tarp: $9,040.00
  • Manly United Football Club LTD - Marquee initiative: $3,045.00
  • Northern Beaches Waves Boccia Club  - sporting opportunites for the disabled athletes: $4,540.00
  • Warringah Archers Inc Increase participation by upgrading old bow equipment: $8,600.00

  • Christian Brothers Old Boys Rugby Union Football Club Inc - Brothers Rugby Women and Colts training initiative: $5,613.00
  • Iranian Football Association Australia  - Unit Futsal 1-Day Tournament: $5,000.00
  • Knox United Football Club Inc. -  Supporting Youth Participation with appropriate training equipment: $3,780.00
  • Ku-Ring-Gai Kangaroos Basketball Club Inc. - Community Awareness Program: $2,530.00
  • Lindfield Tennis Club  - Acquisition of new Roller to sustain and improve our Grass Court playing surfaces: $3,622.00
  • North Turramurra Football Club  - New player uniforms and training equipment: $5,060.00
  • St. Ives District Junior Cricket Club - Revitalising grassroots at St Ives JCC: $8,000.00 
  • St Ives Wahroonga Cricket Club  - Encourage player retention and attract new players: $2,400.00
  • Warringah Dressage Association  - Digital Communication Improvement: $5,893.00

The Local Sports Grant Program aims to increase participation in sport, improve access for underrepresented groups, reduce barriers to involvement, and support clubs to deliver quality experiences while meeting community needs.

The program is administered by the NSW Office of Sport, with applications required to demonstrate a clear need and measurable outcomes aligned with these objectives.

“The Local Sport Grant Program provides vital funds to community sporting organisations to invest in facility minor upgrades, new equipment and programs.

“With tight budgets and clubs ever more reliant on volunteers, this funding gives teams resources to invest where they need, be it purchasing new jerseys or hosing local events like come and try days.

“I congratulate the more than 500 sports organisations across NSW that were successful in securing funding and commend them for their commitment to our collective health, wellbeing and sense of identity.”
