Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce Rejuvenated - Relaunched: New mantra of 'Community First'

Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce has relaunched with fresh perspectives and a great new team of energetic volunteers.

The chamber held a re-launch last week with over 75 people attending which was a fantastic start.

Kylie Harding has been elected as the new  President of the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce and has plans for significant re-invigoration of such, something the business owners and people on the ground in Mona Vale are hungry for.

Kylie Harding is Principal/Investment Adviser at Morgans Financial (Mona Vale). Kylie works in wealth management and investment advice and is focused on revitalising the Chamber as a practical, welcoming local business network — building connections, supporting local businesses, and strengthening advocacy with the council and government.  More personally, she has lived on the Barrenjoey peninsula since 1986, attended Mackellar Girls High School and is a mother of 4 young adults.

Mackellar MP Dr Sophie Scamps, and MP for Pittwater Jacqui Scruby spoke at the re-launch, stating they are very happy for Kylie to have taken on this role so the chamber can be a direct voice and channel to government in representing businesses in our area. The re-launch reception was lively and the feedback which keeps coming, is strong.

Kylie Harding said at the re-launch:

''Good evening everyone, and welcome to the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce relaunch. It’s so great to see so many people here tonight.

For anyone I haven’t met yet, I’m Kylie Harding, and I have stepped into the role as your new President.

Welcome to our VIPs, Federal independent member for Mackellar Dr Sophie Scamps and independent Member for Pittwater, Jacqui Scruby. Northern beaches councillors, Service NSW business bureau and our sponsors ONeill Photographics (Natalie), The Mona and Pittwater Place.

Before anything else, I just want to say upfront—this is a volunteer position. Like the rest of the committee, I’m here because I genuinely care about our local business community and what we can build together. So please do go easy on me as I find my feet—there’s a lot to learn, and I’m sure I’ll make a mistake or two along the way. When I started in this position 3 weeks ago, membership had fallen to 20 businesses – we are now up to over 40.  Please help us spread the word to grow our members.

What I can promise is this: I’ll show up, I’ll listen, and I’ll do my best to help make the Chamber something that feels valuable, welcoming, and genuinely connected.

I’m keeping things simple with a mantra for how I’d like us to operate:

Community first. No ego. Just kindness and support.

Because at the end of the day, we’re all trying to do the same thing—run good businesses, support our families, and feel connected to the place we live and work. And when we back each other, share ideas, and look out for one another, everyone wins.

For the non or expired members in the room, please consider signing up tonight. We have a 24 hour discount running- $150 for an annual business membership, including 2 people eligible to attend membership events, your business showcased our business directory and social media shout outs – not to mention 75+ potential new clients/customers/friends in this room. Jo is handing out a QR code to sign up as we speak.

Again thank you for being here, thank you for supporting the Chamber, and thank you in advance for your patience and encouragement as we keep building something great together. Keep an eye on our website- all events, news and support are centralised on monavalechamber.org.au. Socials- Instagram and Facebook too.

That’s it from me. I’m around all evening- please come and say hello.''
