Davidson High School revamped hall finished on time

Davidson High School has a renovated, refreshed and revamped school hall. The glam and glossy renovated school hall at Davidson High School

Parent-teacher nights, indoor sports and school assemblies can now take place in more comfort thanks to the renovation of the Davidson High School hall.

Finished in time for Term 3, the hall refurbishment included:

  • renovation of ground floor student bathrooms and change rooms, including a new cubicle system for change room privacy
  • replacement of the hall ceiling
  • new ventilation system
  • creating an additional storeroom
  • basketball hoops and backboards
  • internal painting
  • flooring refresh.

Students and staff can look forward to a school with brand new facilities and fixtures to support their sporting and performing arts experiences.

Parents and community from Davidson, as well as neighbouring Mimosa, Wakehurst, Belrose and Kambora Public Schools, will also enjoy the improved facility when they use it for presentation evenings, Science Week activities and dance rehearsals.

Work to improve the school’s critical electrical infrastructure continues, with an expected finish date at the end of Term 4. This includes replacing old for new to improve and update the electrical system at the school.

Principal David Rule said:

“This is a wonderful upgrade to our school hall and is much welcomed by the local community.

“It will provide every student the opportunity to enhance their school experience, whether that’s through sport or performance, or by being in a more comfortable exam setting.

“We look forward to welcoming our parent community to our next function in a much more attractive setting.”

A/Minister for Education, Courtney Houssos said:

“The renovation of the Davidson High School Hall is part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education.

“The 2025-26 Budget is delivering record education funding, including $9 billion for new and upgraded schools.

“The hall renovation at Davidson High and upgrades at other schools will ensure Northern Beaches communities get access to a world class public education.”

Following the NSW Department of Education School Infrastructures' update in October 2024, work to significantly improve the school hall, bathrooms and critical electrical infrastructure at Davidson High School progressed.

The audio visual system upgrade has now been completed, as have the upgrades to the hall’s level 1 bathrooms and change rooms.

This work included:

  • reconfiguring the boys’ change room to make it similar in size to the girls’ facilities
  • installing a new cubicle system for change room privacy
  • new ceilings, windows and toilets
  • new tiling and painting
  • new exhaust system for ventilation

All these upgrades are valued at more than $2 million.
