Pittwater's Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, in conjunction with the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club, have run another fantastic start to the New Year with 39 vessels competing in what has become an iconic race in Australia's Blue Water series of offshore racing. This year also marks the inaugural inclusion of trimarans, those huge birds that literally fly across the water.

What marks this race more then many though is the family element, with crews comprised of generations working and having fun together. Last year we saw Olympian Nina Curtis with dad, Rob Curtis, current Commodore of the RPAYC aboard Secret Men's Business. This year, the yacht that took out line honours on Friday, Ragamuffin, was skippered by Syd Fisher's grandson Brenton and also had father and sons 'Witt's aboard.
