Taste Of The Beaches 2024 Runs All This May: A Few Examples Of What's Available & Where

Rowies by the Sea Sunday lunches in Newport SLSC

A month of tantalising offerings is available as the Taste of the Beaches venues have now been announced.

Over 60 businesses across the Peninsula will take part in a month-long festival of food, beer, spirits and wine during May.

From edible education and hands on experiences, to month-long programs, taste collaborations and unique taste experiences – there is something to suit every palette.

Mayor Sue Heins said Taste of the Beaches promises to highlight the best on the beaches.

“The festival will be a celebration of the incredible food and beverage experience we enjoy on the Peninsula with the bonus of amazing exclusive offers by our local cafes, bars, restaurants and breweries.

“Get your taste buds ready for an afternoon pairing chicken wings with a variety of locally brewed beers, a Sardinia wine tasting, expand your kitchen skills at a Masala and Martini cooking class or gorge yourself at a nugget fest.

“With all the delicious options, why not gather all your friends and family and indulge. Take the opportunity to try one of the cuisines you’ve not experienced before.

“My one tip, book early as demand will be strong.” said Mayor Heins.

On offer are Sunday Sessions at the Hungry Ghost in Avalon Beach:

''Every Sunday throughout May, we will be closing Patterson Lane and laying out the lawn in Avalon.

Grab a coffee and one of our signature jaffles or other brunch bites that feature housemade, local and ethically sourced produce, whilst you sit under the umbrellas and play old school outdoor games with friends and family.''

Fancy some historical insights before a beautiful lunch?

The Little Manly Historical Walking Tour & Lunch may suit you; armed with historical imagery and a passion for the past, your guide and historian Max Burns-McRuvie of Journey Walks will lead guests on a two hour walking tour before returning the group to Ripples Little Manly for a delicious 2 course lunch with bread and snacks.

Awaken the memories of Manly on a walking exploration filled with sights and stories by the sea. Our tour circuit from Little Manly Beach will rediscover why this extraordinary suburb once sold itself to the visiting masses as ‘Seven miles from Sydney, a thousand miles from care'.
